Hesperia MUD - [telnet hesperia-mud.org:7000]

First of all, we want to welcome you to Hesperia.
To play Hesperia, you can connect with any MUD-client (like WASP) or with Telnet.

If you are a new player, you can enter a new name you wish to play with. Please remember that the name should be a bit in-theme, so: 'themightyone' and such would not be suitable names. After you have chosen the name and verified it, you may choose your password (and verify that too). You are then ready for the creation of your own, first character. Your character consists of: race, class and gender. Your race and class determine your attributes in the game and the racials, skills and spells you will get during the game. After you have created your char you will be asked wether you will play in ANSI mode (which means if your client accepts colors) or not. Most clients (even telnet on most machines) can handle ANSI mode.

The last quetion is simple, are you a new player or an experienced one? New players are directed to a MUDschool, which does not only make the player aware of mudding itself, but also shows the basic commands of Hesperia.

It is safest to follow instructions there, so that you can find your way around the MUD easier and are able to find helpfiles when needed. Please keep in your mind that Hesperia has a large variety of helpfiles and is a playerfriendly MUD, with most players being able to answer any questions a new player might have.

In addition to the normal players online, Hesperia also has Confidants, who are there to guide the new players on their journey when needed. A Confidant is there for questions and help when it is really needed (so not for free spellups).

The first part of your journey will take you into the forest surrounding the startingposition of the game. When you advance in level, you can slowly extend your travels to surrounding areas and slowly start exploring the entire world. The AREA command will show you a list of areas available on Hesperia with their intended playerlevels.
